11/02/09 Final Score Oak Park >1 vs. PH South > 4  (Districts)

The Northmen came up short in their attempt to upset Park Hill South in district play. A mistake in the defensive end by the Northmen led to South's first goal. Oak Park's Jon Betancourt scored to get it even, but it wasn't Oak Park's night, South wins it 4-1 and will play Park Hill for the district title. See you next year.

10/28/09 Final Score Oak Park > 0 vs. PH South > 6

Oak Park came into the last regular season match without six of their players and had a hard time controlling Park Hill South, South had their way with the Northmen and made scoring look easy. Playing without six players Oak Park struggled the entire match finishing the last 4 minutes of the match with just 9 players on the field. Not the way Oak Park wanted to end their season, Park Hill South wins easily 6-0. Oak Park gets another chance against PH South Monday in the first round of District play at PH South 5:00pm. Good Luck Northmen !!

10/26/09 Final Score Oak Park > 1 vs. Wm Chrisman > 2

Another tough outing for the Northmen as they head into the last week of the season. Oak Park allowed Chrisman to score twice, and again the Northmen struggled to score. It wasn't until the final minute that Oak Park was able to find the net. It wouldn't be enough. Final Score 2-1(Oak Park goal Machi Milic)

10/21/09 Final Score Oak Park >1 vs. Ray Pec > 0 (Double Overtime / PK shoot-out)

It was Senior night for the Oak Park Northmen and they were hoping for a win against Ray Pec. This was a  game of chances and Oak Park had several, but just couldn't seem to score. At the end of the game the score remained tied 0-0 even though the Northmen peppered Ray Pec's keeper and defenders all night long. Ray Pec only had a couple of chances, but each time OP keeper Andrew Fishel made great saves to deny the Panthers. Like the game on Monday 2 overtimes periods couldn't decide a winner so it would go to PK's. Unlike the game on Monday Oak Park came out of this one on top as Machi Milic (PK Keeper) made two stops allowing Oak Park the victory. Final Oak Park 1-0 ( Shutout - Andrew Fishel )

10/19/09 Final Score Oak Park >2 vs. Winnetonka > 3 (Double Overtime / PK shoot-out)

On Monday night Oak Park played Winnetonka in what became a thriller. Oak Park drew first blood when a creative Samuel Lopez took on two Tonka defenders beating them both to give Oak Park the lead. Oak Park was playing well and seemed to be controlling the match then suddenly Tonka got a ball at the eighteen turned on it and we were tied at 1. It stayed that way till the second half when Dylan Drambour gave OP the lead hitting a long shot that the keeper couldn't handle. Things were going the Nothmen's way until Tonka scored on a set piece in the 64th minute. Dan Taylor (Tonka) hit a beautiful shot over the wall that skimmed the crossbar on its way into the net. Yes we were tied at 2 and it stayed that way thru regulation time and two overtime periods. Unfortunately for the Northman they would see this one get away in a shootout on a night that they appeared to be the better team! Final Tonka 3-2 (Oak Park goals - Samuel Lopez, Dylan Drambour)

10/15/09 Final Score Oak Park > 0 vs. PH South > 6

It was another tough outing for the Northmen, with three of their starting defenders out they had a hard time slowing the Panthers attack. Oak park surrendered two goals in the first half, and would allow PH South to score four more in the second. Hopefully next week will bring a better outcome when Oak Park plays host to Winnetonka, and Ray Pec. Final 6-0

10/14/09 Final Score Oak Park > 0 vs. Liberty > 4

Oak Park headed to Liberty hoping for better weather, and a win. Both have been hard to come by for the Northmen in October. So much for the weather as rain set in as the match started and continued till it ended. Oak Park wouldn't get the win either, this one was all Liberty. Scoring four goals on Oak park the last one with just 1.6 seconds remaining in the match. Oak Park is now 1-7 in October, the Northmen will try again tonight vs. PH South. Good Luck Northmen !!

10/12/09 Final Score - Oak Park > 1 vs. Park Hill > 2

Every time these two teams get together you can bet it's going to be a good match, tonight was no different. Oak Park scored first when Ray Saari's shot seemed to spin out of the hands of the Park Hill goal keeper Shane VanHooser and into the net. Oak Park lost Saari (their leading scorer) shortly after his goal for the rest of the match due to injury. Park Hill managed to tie the the match at one and would eventually score a second goal to win it. (Oak Park goal Saari)

10/10/09 Final Score - Oak Park > 5 vs. East HS > 3

Oak Park in the final match off the tournament would play East HS. Something had to give in this one as both teams came in without a win in the first two matches. It would be all Oak Park as they broke out of their scoring slump scoring five goals, giving the Northmen a much needed victory. East did manage a few goals of their own, but they were never really in the match.  Next up for Oak Park is Park Hill on Monday night at DAC. Good Luck Northmen !! Final 5-3 (Oak Park goals Rodriguez 2,Betancourt,Radovic,Drambour)

10/10/09 Final Score - Oak Park > 2 vs. St Pius > 5

In the second game of the NKC tournament Oak Park would play St Pius. The first half was played pretty even with St Pius scoring a single goal to lead 1-0 at the break. In the second half Oak park's defense struggled to contain Pius allowing them to score four times. 10/08/09 Final Score Oak Park > 0 vs. Staley HS > 1

On a cold wet night at District stadium Oak park took on the Staley Falcons in the first game of the NKC district tournament. It was a good match between two evenly matched teams. Staley Mid-fielder Michael McCulloch scored the winning goal in the 60th minute. This game went a lot like Oak Park's last, the Northmen played hard but were unable to score. Oak Park has now lost four straight, and been shut-out in all four matches. Oak Park will look for a win on Saturday when they play St Pius at 8:30am, and East HS at 1:00pm. Come out and support the team on Saturday !! Good Luck Northmen !!! Final 1-0

Two minutes into the second overtime Truman got a ball in past Oak Parks defense and scored the winning goal. Final score 1-0

10/05/09 Final Score Oak Park > 0 vs. Rockhurst > 6

Rockhurst had their way with Oak Park scoring early and often scoring five times in the first half. Oak Park allowed just one goal in the second half but never threatened in the match. Rockhurst with all their talent were just to strong for the young Northmen and win easy, Final 6-0

10/01/09 Final Score Oak Park > 0 vs. LS North > 6

Oak Park ran into a ambush Thursday at Lee's Summit North, they had no answer for a very good LS North team. They seemed to be bigger, stronger, faster, and were very organized when they attacked. Their attacks were timed well and they made scoring look easy vs. the Northmen. LSN in a romp!  Final 6-0

09/30/09 - Final Score - Oak Park > 5 vs. Wm. Chrisman > 0

Oak Park had their way with The Chrisman Bears on Wednesday night controlling the game from the beginning. Oak Park scored early and never looked back. 09/28/09 - Final Score - Oak Park > 1 vs. Raytown > 4

Oak Park went to Raytown on Monday to challenge the Blue Jays, a challenge it was as Oak Park found out quickly, Raytown had speed and size at the striker position. The first ball sent forward to the striker resulted in a goal. That was followed by two more as Oak Parks defenders were not able to contain Raytown's attack. Oak Park managed a goal of their own, but it was not nearly enough, Raytown went on to an easy 4-1 victory. (Oak park Goal - Machi Milic Assist - Kyle Zeigler)

09/23/09 - Final Score - Oak Park > 1 vs. Winnetonka > 2

Oak Park scored first when sophomore defender Derek Harvey drove a kick from about 25 yards out that the Winnetonka keeper could not hold giving Oak Park the lead. Oak Park managed to take the 1-0 lead to the break, but in the second half Winnetonka took control. The Northmen were missing three starters in this game and it seemed to be a factor as Winnetonka went on to win scoring twice in the second half. Final score 2-1  (Oak Park Goal - Derek Harvey)

09/21/09 - Final Score - Oak Park > 3 vs. NKC > 1

The Oak Park Northmen came into this game having won two of their last three matches and appear to have things going in the right direction. It didn't take Oak Park long to get it going as Kyle Zeigler took the ball strong into the box and was fouled resulting in a penalty kick. Freshman Ray Saari took the kick and buried it giving Oak Park a 1-0 lead. The Hornets rallied back quickly scoring on a set piece that was placed perfectly just inside the post. The match went to the half tied 1-1. Oak Park seemed to be the more aggressive, and more organized team on this night taking control in the second half. Oak Park crossed a ball into Freshman Machi Milic and he did not waste the chance getting just enough of his head on the ball beating the keeper for the goal. Later Juan Hernandez finished a nice run with a perfect shot just over the charging keeper to the top of the net. Final score Oak park 3 - NKC 1 (Oak Park Goals - Ray Saari, Machi Milic, Juan Hernandez)

09/16/09 - Final Score - Oak Park > 1 vs. Park Hill > 2 (Double Overtime / PK shoot-out)

On Wednesday Oak Park traveled to Park Hill hoping to win their third match in a row. It didn't take long to realize that this was going to a good one! Not only good, this one will became an instant classic. Everyone that played in or attended this match will remember it for a long long time. It took regulation time, two overtimes, and a PK shoot-out to decide a winner. Oak Park scored first in the 51st minute when Arturo Pino's soft shot found it's way thru traffic into the back of the net. For the next 27 minutes Oak Park fought off a relentless attack by the Trojans, but the score remained 1-0. Then with less then two minutes remaining in regulation time Park Hill scored the tying goal on a second chance ball that came off Oak Park's goal keeper. After regulation time expired the score was tied at one. Bring on ten minutes of overtime -still 1-0. Bring on another ten minutes of overtime - still 1-0. Sixty minutes later it would take a PK shoot-out to decide this one. Even that didn't decide a winner as it remained tied after round one of the shoot-out. It was finally decided after Oak Park missed a shot in round two of the shoot-out and the Trojans made their shot. There were no losers in this one, man that was FUN !! (Oak Park goal Arturo Pino)

Coming off their first win of the season Oak Park was hoping to keep it going against the Truman Patriots, and thats exactly what they did! The second half was a lot more of the same as Oak Park controlled all the action and were never seriously challenged on the defensive end. Goal Keeper Andrew Fishel gets his second straight shut-out.
